When you add up all the things you’ll need to complete your baby’s nursery room, it can be quite expensive. If you’re on a tight budget, here are some ideas and options that can help you save on the basic things you’ll need.

 

Skip A Traditional Crib

No doubt, a baby crib is one of the most important pieces of furniture you’ll need in your baby’s nursery but it can be very expensive. A traditional baby crib can cost over $300. If you want to save money, opt for a mini portable crib or a bassinet which can run for $150 or less.

 

 

Nursery Chair Under $100

A nursery glider chair or a breastfeeding chair is a piece of furniture that’s in most nurseries because mom’s need to feel comfortable while breastfeeding their babies. Seating Cushions

If you’re not looking to spend that much money on a chair, you can use a chair you already own and add a chair cushion set on it. You can easily find a set online for under $40. A free alternative is to use extra pillows you may have at home to support your back while breast feeding on a chair.

 

Saving money on groceries

Dresser Under $60

Another important thing that you will need for your baby’s nursery is a dresser to put your baby’s clothes in. Dressers can be pricey but there are inexpensive options like the fabric and wooden top dressers. These types of dressers can be purchased for under $60 and they come in many different colors.

 

 

Changing Table

A changing table is another piece of furniture that you may want to include in your baby’s nursery. A changing table can cost close to $100 but there are cheaper changing tables on Amazon for under $100 or you can find changing tables for under $30 on online second-hand stores like Mercari or on Facebook Marketplace.  Another option is to just purchase a changing pad that you can lay over your bed to change your baby. Changing pads are very inexpensive and they are also easy to pack into your baby’s backpack.

 

 

One Dollar Decor

The most fun and budget-friendly part of preparing your baby’s nursery is decorating. You can find decoration for your baby’s nursery for one dollar apiece from the Dollar Tree.

You can buy picture frames for a dollar apiece at the Dollar Tree and put a cute baby graphic photo in the frames to hang on the walls.  You can find cute and free photos on sites like pexel.com or pixabay.  Also, Dollar Tree has many cute $1 wall stickers that you can stick right on the wall.
